Author Bios:
Rahul Matthan heads the technology practice at the law firm Trilegal, where he is a partner. His work on the governance of India’s digital public infrastructure includes advising regulators like the UIDAI, NPCI and NHA. He has assisted the Government of India in developing its DPI priorities as part of its G20 Presidency and he serves as a DPI Advisor to the Ministry of Finance. He has also served as a member of the Technology Sub-Committee of the Reserve Bank of India’s Committee on Household Finance, as well as being a member of the Kris Gopalakrishnan committee on Non-Personal Data. Since 2016, he has written a weekly column in the Mint called ‘Ex Machina’, which deals with issues at the intersection of technology, law and society. His podcast by the same name, covers similar ground.
